My husband took treatment for hep-c in 2000 for one year. In 2005 he was positive. Last week his viral load came back negative. Is this normal? He has had no other treatments. Can it go positive to negative with no treatments? His platelets were 15,000. Shouldn't they do something for this? They have him on enderal for the bleeding. Maybe enderal treated the hep?

I'm not sure what you mean by "in 2005 he was positive". I'm pretty sure once you have hep you will always test posiive for the antibodies. Your viral load might not be detectable but you are still positive.
Was his 2005 test an antibody test or a viral load test ? If it was a viral load test what was the number ? If it was low, his own body might be fighting it off.
I don't know what enderal is but I doubt that it treated the Hep but it might
alter test results.

the dr told me he was going to check his viral load. When we went back for the results, the PA said his hep-c test came back negative. This was this month. Back in 2005 when they did the test (anti body I guess) it came back positive. He took treatments 2000 - 2001 and was negative after treatments. I have no idea about the numbers. That's all they have told me. I wish we had some good drs here. I thought it would always be positive too. Guess not?
