My fiancee', Brandon, has had diabetes since he was 8. He is now 23 and has been on Medicaid for all his diabetic needs.

This week they dropped him. Refuse to pay for his insulin, pump supplies, and Dr visits.

Can they drop him without giving us a heads up? Now we are hurting for money and have to come up with the 300 dollars for his insulin. and the pump supplies are way out of our budget. At this point, i have no income (student nurse), and he only brings in 700 dollars a month as a waiter and an EMT Student

His mother is who the medicaid under. We think she may have botched up the medicaid. She refuses to give us the case workers name.

Can we have the medicaid changed to his name? instead of using hers? We need help before things get out of hand.

Hasnt medicaid ever heard of a hyperglycemic coma?! Can they just drop someone who has no way of paying for their chronic illness? HELP ME please.

You can ask your doctor for samples of insulin and supplies. Novo-Nordisk has a great patient assistance program and he could get Novolog, Levemir, and pen needles for free through them. Honestly, he will probably have to come off his pump if he can't get some form of insurance coverage for pump supplies.

Yes they can. My mother has Multiple Myeloma (cancer), has had it for over a decade. My father died and although they were divorced, she got his social security which bumped her BARELY over the eligibility for medicaid and they dumped her while she was in the hospital getting brain surgery for a bleed after hitting her head on my shower while visiting me in Los Angeles (this is separate from the cancer).

Our government has no heart...No soul...Just a bank account.
