Just found this board today.
Question - I get bad pain between my shoulder blades, perhaps twice yearly. This time I also have had burping and high anxiety for the past week. Usually the pain occurs randomly, I could be walking, I could be lying in bed.
But the other night, I had just yelled at my daughter, and whamo, 2 minutes later, the pain came on. We were sitting in traffic on a highway, so I didn't do anything. I'm waiting to call my doctor.
So, again, the difference this time is my anxiety level and the burping.

probate,
That kind of pain is usually either mucle tension or a nerve root pinch by an upper vertebra, or a little of both.
If it came on after yelling at your daughter it sounds most like muscular tension.
Try some yoga or floor stretching...or Valium (short term.)
It's not your heart.
I jus6t got done with a bout of pain oover my right shoulder blade every time I turned my head to the right. I "cured" it with some neck stretching traction (on a puill down machine and 35 pounds of weights.) I've made my own headstrap.
