level... I was wondering if I should get more testing done. I just had a baby 4 months ago.. During my pregnancy I had all the symptoms of gestational diabetes, only I passed every glucose test they did. And believe me they tested me every month until 27 wks of pregnancy. Anyway, around 14 wks of pregnancy I started with this strong metallic taste in my mouth,that eventually turned into waht they are calling Burning tongue syndrome.. My tongue is constantly burning 24/7 for the past yr.Some days it is tolerable, but other days it is HORRIBLE.. the kind of feeling where you just wanna cut your tongue off, and be done with it.
So my endo did some testing on me Including blood glucose and Insulin.. I do have PCOS< and was DX'd w/ Insulin resistance back in 1999.
anyway my 12 hr fasting blood glucose was 100, the cut off is 99 for lab ranges here. and my fasting Insuling is 13 w/ a cut off of 14.. which is odd, I think they raised this ( lab range ) number over the last 2 yrs..anyway.I could of swore 2 yrs ago that 10 was the cut off for normal range.. . if I have this fasting level of 100 is something i should persue further?

My endo does not seem concerned, but was thinking of taking my labs too reg doc, and seeing what he thought, but i wanted too come here and ask what you allthought first. I know it is only 1 point over, but that one point does concern me since I do have Insulin resistance.

Can I get any thoughts on this matter please..

Have you had a glucose tolerance test? How about just testing 2 hours after you eat? The fasting glucose level is often the last to be elevated. What other blood work have you had done? An a1c?
