A full CBC for blood work ,a general physical , EKG or ECG, sometimes a doctor prescribes antibiotics as a preventive measure to ward off infection.

Question - does it matter if one is going to have menstrual period during surgery? Does it influence anything, do you know?

Hmmmm I really don't know about that. The 2 times I had surgery I wasn't on my period. They never asked me if I was going to be on my cylce then. Better be safe and call to see if they would rather you off your period for the surgery.
I don't know how much you'd want to fool with Aunt Flo after getting your nose done. That first day might be a bit uncomfortable as it.

I was asked to time my labiaplasty for a time I wouldn't be on my period.
