View Full Version : sharp pain with bowel movement blood on toilet paper

I've had issues with IBS, etc. Lately my bowel movements are normally formed. I take Metamucil and other fiber. Occasionally though if I have a sharp "piece" it hurts coming out and then I see a drop of blood (thats it really, just a drop) on the toilet paper. I've had the stool tested for blood. Always negative. I take suppositories for hemorrhoids but can't tell exactly where the blood is coming from. I just pat when I wipe so I assume it's on the outside and not internally. Sorry to be gross. Just looking for some reassurance. I have skin tags from prior hemorrhoids so its kind of hard to see whats going on down there!

based on your description at time of bm and blood, I'd wager you have a fissure....

I'm having the same symptoms, so let me know how you go!

On top of this IBS crap we get fissures. Great, just great!
