I had my LEEP procedure done on the 23rd. They knocked me out for it. The worst part was having the I.V. put in!Everything went smoothly. I had cramping when I woke up for maybe 5 minutes if that. Then I felt no pain at all. My gyn gave me some medication for pain, but I really don't have any so I haven't taken any. I really hope getting the LEEP will make everything better with me, and hopefully the HPV will go away now that this has been done.

Thanks for everyone's support!!

Isn't it so nice to have it over? :) Hopefully it's all clear from here on out!

Good luck!

Hi! I just signed up on healtboard. I am having the LEEP tomorrow & have a few ?s. How long after the procedure did you get results?
We were hoping to start trying to conceive soon. Do you know what the waiting period is for that after the leep? Thanks in advance for your help.

I had a my first LEEP on Mar. 6th. In the beginning of April, I switched ob/gyn and when I met with my new doctor for a consultation (no pap or anythinig) I asked her how long to wait before ttc. She tries to tell her patients to wait for at least one normal pap after a LEEP before actively trying. She told me that the first pap after the LEEP should be in 6 months. She is actually allowing me to have one done in 4 months because I'm a teacher and I really want to get pregnant in the summer that way I could have a baby in the spring and be out the rest of the school year. (It's all about timing for teachers!)

My first pap is on June 26th. I am keeping my fingers crossed that all is well and I get the green light!

You'll want to ask your dr. though. Yours may tell you something different! Good luck to you!

I'm a teacher too!:) I know all about the timing...that's what has frustrated me, because I thought I had it all planned out before the precancerous cells showed up:( I think things will be back to normal soon.
Thanks for the info. I go back in 2 weeks to go over results & for a post op type of exam to make sure everything looks ok.
Good luck to you & thanks again!
