Okay, having read the symptoms of possible anxiety issues, I think I may very well be a case. I've been having alot of digestive and stomach symptoms, less appetite, high pulse rate, fluctuating blood pressure, night sweats, as well as some of the fears mentioned (i.e. fear of death). I have this habit of often searching symptoms online, and I think that has really affected me. I've been to stomach, gyn, and regular doctors trying to see what's wrong, and they cannot seem to find, or think there is anything major pathologically wrong. My doctor has recommended anxiety counseling, if this is anxiety related what are some suggestions you could offer to help cope?

Hi Kim,
The internet is not a very good place for us anxiety suffers who like to self-diagnose. :) First coping strategy, don't lookup any medical stuff!!! Tell yourself you are fine and just stay away, if you can. You have been to the doctors and they can't find anything wrong, so try and let it go and accept that you have anxiety.
I would definitely read through this website. Knowing you are NOT ALONE helps at great deal! I would also call right now to schedule your session with a counselor. She will see if you might be a good candidate for any medication. Don't delay, make the call. Get on track. Don't suffer anymore than you have too.
Good luck!

Thanks for your advice, finding this board really has helped, and reading around, like you say, I can already see stories like mine....I've been finding it hard to accept that anxiety alone can cause all these symptoms, but reading around I see it is in fact possible, amazing what anxiety can do to the body...

kim, i too have a lot of stomach issues associated with my anxiety. this week ive been SUPER panicky and have already lost 5 pounds. i have NO appetite whatsoever. two days ago, all i had was a peice of bread in the morning and then nothing else until the next day. ive also had a lot of indigestion and i have been going to the bathroom a lot. my mom used to say i had a "nervous stomach". there is definitly a correlation between your stomach and anxiety. i hope you read some of the other posts on here. and good luck, just rememeber, YOU ARE NOT ALONE in this.

Hi there-
Welcome. I do agree, do not look up health issues on the net-- it justs adds to anxiety.
I too am a case of anxiety. Last summer, anxiety killed my african safari vacation. I was in South Africa and had to cut the vacation of a lifetime short due to anxiety--but it felt like I was dying. I had head pressure, eye issues, back, neck chest tension, I was not sleeping, fear of everything, dizziness, etc.
I came back to the states and got a great psychologist and found a doctor that understood. A lesson I learned was that if you don't like your psychiatrist, be vocal about it or else your case will be mismanaged and you will suffer. I speak the truth here.
Be well. Know that there are others who understand.
