After 5 months of being friends and really no intentions of ever sleeping together... I am SOOO afraid I may have given him herpes...
We were together one night.. had been drinking... one thing led to another... I told him to get a condom he said he had one but, before he could get off of me he had already put it in... caught up in the moment... I carried on. I had an outbreak one week and a half prior and had taken Valtrex for it... The next morning after having sex, I now feel like it is back !!! I had completely been free of ANY symptoms prior to us having sex... What are the chances of me transmitting it to him ???? Is it possible that the outbreak could have came the day after and I would have been ok the night before??? I feel so bad, I want to call and tell him but dont know what to do!!!! :dizzy:

Awww, I don't really know what to tell you, but I wanted to respond! Sorry you're caught in this situation...sucks having an STD (I have HPV).
It sounds like you haven't told him you have Herpes (I don't blame you, those things are kind of personal), but I think now that you two have slept together you owe telling him. He is a friend of yours too...
I don't know how Valtrex works (at all), but I'm pretty sure there is a possibility you could have given it to him. I don't know (can't even estimate) what the chances would be, but I would treat it similar to getting pregnant - I mean, you can get pregnant after one time of having sex, right? You can also get pregnant even when wearing a condom... My point is that nothing is foolproof.
Even if you did have an outbreak at the time, I don't think that means he will definitely have it, just a strong chance he will (like getting pregnant, the egg/sperm have to have good timing, except I think herpes is highly transmittable).
I'm sorry you're going through this, I really don't know what else to say.

i suggest you tell him,...
i have a question, i dont know if whats happening to me is herpes of anything,
i have a sores in genital area near the urine passage but it only appear several minutes after sex and disappear after 1 or 3 days, everytime i had sex it appear and its painful, i never had those small bumps,..
can this be herpes?i just need to know from those who have herpes,..

yes you probably gave it to him. valtrex just supresses the symptoms for you but doesnt do anything to prevent transmission.
