Hi Everyone,
I do try to keep popping back here once in a while because I know how much I relied on it when I was ill. I was dignosed with VN back in Sept 03 and was well by Sept 05 (seems such a long time ago now). I got better very slowly with many setbacks and many bad days. I just wanted to post something positive as I know how good posts helped me all those years ago.
I have no symptoms at all now, I am completely well. Not an easy road, I know but the things that helped me most were positivity, activity (even though it made me feel awful) and repeating activities that made me feel bad (busy shops etc). Tried the VRT ( a sheet that was given to me at the hospital - pretty generic stuff), didnt seem to help much but dont think it did any harm.
Try to stay positive guys, I know how hard that can be - I spent a lot of time in tears but I did get better you will too.
Hi to Gloria - hope you're well?
Hello to Subs too, I know you are well!
Take Care

Hi Lizzy that's such great news that you are all better. thanks so much for giving us hope. Please won't you give me a bit of history as to your symptoms and also how your recovery took place. Was there a pattern to the symptoms that left.

Lizzy...thanks so much for your post. Gloria said that my case seems similar to yours...so go glad to hear you are symptom free. I know the struggle of this illness, so to hear that you are well...makes me smile.
Wondering if you ever had to deal with this illness while pregnant? If so, if it did anything to your symptoms? We want to get pregnant again..and I got this while 8 months pregnant.
Might not pertain...but thought I would ask!
So happy for you! YIPPY>

Hi Guys,
Just to go over my symptoms:
Initially:
Creeping feeling of disequillibrium, eventually constant imbalance;
Intense nausea/vomiting;
Woozy eyes, feeling as if eyes could not track quickly enough;
Full ears;
Mild tinnitus;
Major problems in stores or busy environments.
The constant dizziness slowly changed into interpersed dizziness and the nausea let up - I am talking months here - good days bad days. Tinnitus and full ears slowly vanished. Last thing to go were the eye problems, they lasted ages.
As for the question about pregnancy, my son is now 10 and my daughter is 9 so cant really answer that one but i would say, dont allow this illness stop you doing anything you really want to do. It isnt a lifelong condition, for the majority anyway. I would go for it.

Hi Lizzy,
So wonderful to hear from you and the fact that you are still doing very well is great. How is the new job you mentioned last time on the boards going for you?
I'm improved, just not 100%. My dizziness is much better and I am noticing it becoming so much easier to shop. My daily headache and pressure is better too. I still have some funky/stuffiness weird ear symptoms and vision problems, but believe they will improve with time. The thing that bothers me the most still is very bad tinnitus (I can feel what is making the noise) and a weird shaky or buzzing feeling inside my head, mostly noticeable when I am still. I'm getting there, just getting bored with it and want it to go all the way.
After 2 1/2 years, I finally found a great doctor who has shed some light on what actually happened in my head. I incurred some brain trauma during an allergic reaction I had to an antibiotic right before my ear infection. It is kind of a long and complicated story (did post about it recently though), but my symptoms, history, diagnosis all makes sense now and I believe his diagnosis. The prognosis is 2 - 5 years. I feel at 2 1/2 years I'm more than half way there so I'm hoping for a full recovery before that 5 year mark. I'm actually relaxed about waiting the full 5 years if I am given that 2nd chance to resume a normal life again. It has been a painfully tough road or chapter in my life's book, but I feel I have come a long way since 2 1/2 years ago when I look at all the symptoms I had.
It is a holiday weekend for us here and I am suppose to be at a picnic at my next door neighbors but am sitting it out right now as I feel fatigued and my tinnitus is bothering me. Not up much for socializing. I should probably go as there is a lady over there that had an inner ear problem 2 years ago. Her's turned into bells palsey (just when one thinks it can't get any worse, huh?). She's had many problems that we've all had. Probably would do me some good to talk to someone in person that understands how I feel and vice/versa.
It was great to hear from you and that you are doing well; cheered me up actually. Enjoy life and your kids!
Take care,
Gloria
