I read someone's post about HPV causing tonsil cancer, and another poster responded that it also can cause esophogal cancer. Is there anything else it can cause (besides cervical cancer of course)?
I'm also really curious because I almost died from blood clots in my leg (groin to ankle) that moved to my lungs and heart, and was wondering if there was any connection there. I was on birth control pills, so I'm positive that was the main culprit, but I also have HPV, not cancerous yet, but last time I checked I have severe dysplasia. I know I may sound paranoid, but I'm really just curious what else could have played a factor in getting blood clots - I don't smoke, I am not obese, I am 20 years old and I'm active! The doctors then thought it had to be a genetic disorder, but nooooo, fortunately/unfortunately everything came back normal. My doctors are still amazed and puzzled. I didn't mention the HPV because I didn't think it was relevant, but now I wonder...
Anyway, haha, my question is more simple than I'm making it sound - what other conditions does HPV cause that you know of? Thanks a ton!

HPV is most strongly assoicated with Cervical Cancer in women, but this only occurs if it goes untreated for extensive periods of time, it only occurs in less than 1% of the female population (which like I mentioned, if it goes untreated) I have not heard it linked to any other forms of cancer. Hope this helps!

There are many cases that women have it in their throat too. There is a thread on it somewhere on the board. I learned about it being in the mouth about 5 years ago. My friend is a nurse at an OBGYN's and one of the patients was diagnosed with it. They did a mouth swab and came up positive.

Nope, nothing else other than cervical cancer, genital warts, and possibly some cancers of the digestive tract (this is unproven so far). HPV is a virus that lives on the skin and mucuous membranes, so it stays in the area where it was "deposited."
Just because you don't have a detectable genetic disorder that caused your blood clots doesn't mean you're not genetically prone to them. Some people are just more likely to get certain diseases than others no matter what they do in prevention. Did you spend a lot of time sitting or did you travel by air prior to having the blood clot? That can contribute to them.
