My dad was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 5 years ago. He has been a smoker for over 40 years, has very poor eating habit (lots of sugar), his blood sugar levels fluctuate dramatically every day, and he's beginning to have seizures very often.

I know the dangers involved with not properly treating diabetes. My family, his doctors, and myself have been trying to get through to him for a very long time. I'm completely terrified because he's not taking care of himself, but I don't know what to do anymore. Now that he's having seizures, I'm more worried than ever. I need some advice from people who have diabetes, or from others who have been in my position. Please help me, anything will be appreciated.
