Sponsor naomi81 05-28-2007, 02:44 PM Hi there, Just got home from the hospital today, baby is till there as he is unwell and is in Intensive care. He has strep B and pnuemonia but he is slowly getting better. I had a few problems and ended up having a big reaction to the hydrocortisone (was fine for the 1st few injections) but came out in a burning rash and my sugar crashed etc not really sure what is going on and still feel bad. Felt like I could not breath. How are you getting on at the moment? Best wishes, Naomi beabonnet 05-30-2007, 01:56 AM I'm doing ok. I'm glad to hear that you made it through the delivery ok. And, I hope your little one is soon better and with you. (hugs) I'll be in touch again shortly. beabonnet 06-07-2007, 10:01 PM How is your little one doing? beabonnet 06-21-2007, 07:17 AM Naomi, Just wanted to give you an update. I did finally see a good endocrinologist and am getting some help. He's upped my thyroid medicine. THe previous dose did not even have my Free t4 in the normal range little to my knowledge (but found out when this endo tested). And hopefully, if my insurance pays, I will be going on growth hormone because my growth hormone stimulation test was just .1 over the normal range, so its borderline but it would be helpful to be on it. I would imagine as my thyroid problem has seemed to be getting worse requiring more and more med, that this would just do the same. I'm also keeping an eye on the adrenal issues and have some questions outstanding because my DHEAs was below normal. Previously it was low normal. So, maybe it's on its way down, down too? I hope all is well with you and your precious little one. naomi81 07-12-2007, 02:24 AM Hi Bea, Sorry I did not post a reply before, I have not been able to get on the internet for a while. I a so glad you saw a good endo and have been getting some help. How are you feeling at the moment? did you manage to take the growth hormone? I am doing okay, was not able to breastfeed due to low prolactin. Also have low oestrogen and very low FSH and LH. My cortisol however is very very high (around 900) which is very odd as previously it has been around 70. Not sure whats going on!! I also have low growth hormone. My little one is doing okay he has been in and out of hospital with lung problems but is now on the road to recovery. Look forward to knowing how you are doing. Best wishes, Naomi beabonnet 07-14-2007, 06:57 AM I'm glad to hear that your little boy is starting to do better after having had such a hard time. I did get the growth hormone thankfully, because the upped thyroid alone wasn't starting to address the fatigue issues. I'm also on DHEA now as well as the upped thyroid. I'm starting to feel something from it all but its probably going to take some time. I look forward to having some more energetic days and getting back to some things I used to do and for having more fun with both of my two kids (8 months and 3 years). I hope they can get your hormone issues adjusted correctly for you. The cortisol thing is really weird, as you say. Perhaps you have more than one thing going on. For instance, maybe the pituitary isn't cranking out the ACTH like you need, but the adrenals have their own problem and on their very own are causing the high cortisol. DId they ever figure out why you have the pituitary issues in the first place? naomi81 07-22-2007, 11:16 AM Hi Bea, I am so glad you got the growth hormone, I imagine it will be a while before you are back to your old self but it is fab news that you are well on the road to recovery. Hopefully soon everything will be okay and you will be running around after your little ones. My docs seem to have no clue what is going on with me, I wish they would give me answers. The have taken me off the hydro cortisone and now I keep fainting when ever I try to stand up or do anything quickly etc. I know I have to patient though just wish they would sort things out quickly. My MRI of the pituitary showed nothing plus my adrenal scan was normal. Best wishes, Naomi |
