:blob_fire:wave:  Hi Everyone. It has been a while since I posted .I have flat feet and inverted arches .Despite the fact that I wear well padded custom Prescription Orthotics, I have developed two Callouses right behind my left toe. One really hurts My Podiatrist shaves them down every five or six weeks, but it now gotton very painful arround the edge of the biggest Callous. I have been wearing nice new thick socks called Thorlos which I got in Orlando a couple of weeks ago. I think you can order them from Footsmart too
I used bunion pads for years but the Callouses got bigger after Hammertoe uegery in Sept 05 and do not help now
Prioblem is I can't wear socks all the time My Fat Pads are gone as Iam a almost 67 year old lady This really hurts adn impacts my ability to walk comfortably and drive
Anybody ever had this and what did you do? What did your D ocs recommend ?aAny help or suggestions would be aprreciated Rose

Rose,
It's good to hear from you. I'm sorry you are having these problems. I don't know what to suggest. the only thing that comes to mind is moleskin. You know, that pink sticky stuff we always used when our shoes bothered us. Since you last posted, i've been dx with RSD (reflex sympathic dystropy). It's rotten to have but I am now under the care of a Pain Management Doc. all this from my poor broken toe. My last surgery had me in the hospital for 11 days. My pod had to cut out all the flesh on the top and bottom of the foot and put me on a vacpac (it's like a vac u seal) for 2 months. the pain is never ending. To top it off, this past thurs. I lost my balance and fell. when I did, the 2nd toe on the right foot (my good one) bent back and touched the top of the foot. called hubby to come home to take me to see my pod. it turned out I have a hairline break, and I ripped all the tendons in the toe. so now I'm not able to get around. doc said I have to keep my foot/toes wraped for at least 6 wks to give the tendons time to heal. Luckly, I have a great hubby who does everything for me now. again, can't take care of the horses. Oh well, it will get better (couldn't get much worse) lol..

I have been told that the fat pads on my feet are gone and that my nerves are exposed. It is extremely painful. I am seeing a pain specialist and a neurologist. I am on Lyrica and pain patches. These help some. My neurologist is doing his best to find out the cause for all this. I broke both my feet a little over a year ago and they haven't been the same since. He has done quite a bit of blood work and I'm scheduled to do more. I am scheduled next week to have a spinal tap and a nerve biopsy. He thinks there is something wrong with my immune system. I don't have diabetes and am not B-12 deficient. These were things he thought may be the problem. I am currently unable to be on my feet for very long.
I don't know if any of the above is any help to you or not. Sorry
