My husband's ammonia level was normal but he is confused. 2 days ago he didn't know what day it was. He seems a little better today. He won't go to doctor until his appointment next month. What else would cause him to be confused?

i also have bouts of confusion sometimes worse than others last feb i could not even drive a car or count money at the store. Finally i went to the doctors because i needed to know why. everything has come out fine MRI neck ultra sound i am waiting results from eeg now. They are starting to say it is my hep c since there is no other physical reason for these. I too would love to know what would cause this and are other people with hep c having this problem.

Are you on treatment for your Hep C? I have also had some brain fog with my hep C, so yes, I do believe part of it is the disease. I know during treatment it gets far worse. :rolleyes:

It has been 7 years since my husband had treatment. I called his doctor this week about his confusion and asked what his amonia leval was, I had asked them to check it because he was just starting the confusion. When I called she said it WAS NOT checked. I am having problems getting him to drink that powder stuff. He does seem to be a little better today. At least he knows what day it is. This was my first bout with this. It is very hard. Thanks for your replies.:wave:
