I had bilateral hallux rigidus. Had surgery on my right foot on 3/29 and left foot on 5/8. Dr. said he had no idea why I had soo much inflammation because the spurs were not that bad. He cleaned up the joint and removed the inflammation and spurs. My right foot is feeling ok but still hurts at times and when I bend it all the way. My left foot has been hurting the whole time. It hurts alot to walk on it and I am returning to work tomorrow. Dr. has me only doing 2 hours of walking. I hope everything went well because I had no luck with previous surgeries.

Are you doing exercises? You should be pulling the toe out and then moving up and down as often as you can...sitting watching TV, at your desk, etc.
Also try taking an anti-inflammatory....Aleve or maybe even try Celebrex for a while. I was on Vioxx(still miss it!). Full recovery for this surgery is about a year. It was about 2 months out before I could wear regular shoes. Good luck.

I guess that my feet are not doing that bad then. I am wearing regular walking shoes at work. I am walking about 2 hours a day. Called Dr. today and asked for a few weeks of physical therapy and he put in for it.

I think that's a good idea. Scar tissue will build up if you don;t move that joint so it is VERY important that you do so.
