So, I'm finally starting to feel really overwhelmed.
About 1.5 years ago, I started to feel 'not right', and since then it's just gotten worse.
I'm going to see a GP on Thursday (I'm new in town, so I don't have one yet), and hopefully she will take some time and run some tests and see if we can get some answers.
It all started in about November'05 with a funny little electrical shock like feeling in the calf of my left leg. It happened a few times a day (pulsating type feeling), and was just 'uncomfortable' (as opposed to painful) and annoying. Well, since then it's progressively gotten worse, and now it's pretty much body wide, and painful, with only 1-2 weeks without them every few (4 or 5) months. In total my 'symptoms' are:
Electrical Shock like feelings in: left leg, right hand (thumb, pinky and ring fingers, as well as through the palms on both hands), right ring finger, neck, 1 toe on right foot, collar bone area..basically body-wide, and even occasionally around the ribs.
Fatigue
Vertigo lasting 4 or 5 days at a time (but only occasional)
Short term memory issues (i.e.:saying something to my husband, and then saying EXACTLY the same thing to him again 2 minutes later)
Muscle issues-for example, if I get a "kink" in my neck from sleeping wrong, it takes me about a week to get over it.
and most recently:
slightly blurred vision in my right eye (but that COULD be because I am supposed to wear glasses and don't).
chest pain-feeling like someone is applying direct pressure to my chest (between the breasts), making it hard to breath well (and it hurts) which lasts about 20-30 minutes.
So far, it's been 1.5 years and no one's really taken me seriously. My first doc suggested Fibromyalgia as a possible cause, but didn't really test me to rule out other things. All I've had is my TSH and blood sugars tested, and was put on calcium supplements to see if that helped (it didn't). And then was put on Neurontin (300mg once a day) to help (it didn't, especially at that dose).
I'm just really frustrated and overwhelmed lately. I've spent this morning and all day yesterday on the verge of tears.
As I've said, I have an appointment with a family doctor on Thursday morning, and I am desperately hoping she is willing to work to try and find out what's going on.
I would just love some support, information and HELP coming to a diagnosis. My friends are mostly non-chalant about it, my husband is overwhelmed himself and has no clue how to help or what to say(although he tries, and picks up my slack to make my life easier).
