I'm no expert so hopefully someone else will reply, but, my understanding is that Addision's Disease is one type of adrenal insufficiency. Adrenal insufficiency can occur because of problems with the adrenal glands or problems with the pituitary.
I think the term adrenal fatigue refers to a milder form of adrenal failure that many (if not most) traditional doctors don't/won't recognize or treat.

I have been diagnosed, finally, with adrenal insufficiency. I have had this since I was 12 years old, and I can almost name the day it started. It was quite profound. Since that day, and until I was put on Dessicated Adrenal, two tablets at breakfast and two more at supper, I could not wake up without a bomb going off in the room, and sometimes I would sleep through that too. Instead of waking up, I would have anxiety dreams about almost anything. Finally exhausted, I would sleep another hour or so before I could actually get out of bed. Picture me going to work? It was tough. Since being on the adrenal supplement tablets, I can wake up by my self every morning around 7 or 8 a.m....without an alarm! That's enough for me. And yet I got another benefit from it. I can now exercise without exhaustion for a normal period of time, like jazzercise for an hour. When I attempted this in my younger years, I would be so exhausted that I would move in slow motion for about two hours!
Good luck! My doctor is a naturalist and an MD.

Judit, could you tell me what tablets you are taking? Are they cortef? Some kind of vitamin or other supplement? I'd really appreciate it, thanks.
