Does anyone have trouble talking to people now...like they have trouble focusing or feel dizzy and it causes their eyes to feel all weird?

I have been having the hardest time talking to people now. My eyes feel like they are going to explode, I get a headache, can barely drive after this and it takes awhile for it to subside. It also sometimes makes my throat feel sore. Strangest feeling. After I'm done talking to people or in a well lit, populated place, I have trouble with my balance, cordination and it even seems hard to talk. Once I have settled down a little bit, it seems to get better. I cannot handle any stress at all and when I get stressed or feel overwhelmed it seems worse. It's almost as if my eyes feel crossed while being held wide open.

Any suggestions or ideas? I have never been to see and ENT, neurologist or had an MRI, but a year and a half ago I had a catscan and was diagnosed as having mild chronic sinus fascitus (sp), however I was never prescribed anything for it. My right ear now occassionally feels like a blown speaker, I tremble when I sleep on one side, my right eye feels almost droopy at times, anxiety, panicky at times, trouble sleeping, feels like I have a hard time talking and feel like I look different (nobody says they notice). I startle very, very easily at any noise, very sensitive to light, stiff neck, left ear get's sharp pains occassionally, clenched jaw when I try and sleep, lack of concentration, agitation, irratibility.....you name it. Thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully respond. I feel like I'm losing my mind with no answer and no relief of these symptoms. It's almost as if I have them all day, but I don't get the vertigo feeling (I don't think).

Yes, I got extremely quiet when I was not feeling so well.. I avoided people and social situations.. It was hard for me to talk because I felt so out of it.......

What were you diagnosed with and did your symptoms resemble mine? I almost feel paranoid when somebody walks by me or something as it startles me or something.

Hi Red,

I get a very similar thing. I find having conversations with people can be difficult, especially maintaining eye contact for a long time. Its like focussing on the movements of their face and eyes causes the dizziness. I get sore eyes, feels a bit like severe eye strain, and a tight feeling around the eyes in general. It also feels like my eyes don't move quickly or sharply enough and my vision is a little blurry.

Those things are related to my vestibular problem, which is....well nobody knows for sure. Probably a combination of things. But it sounds like you have a lot of anxiety symtoms as well as a possible vestibular problem. You definately need to get checked out by a doctor to find out what is going on and have all the relevant investigations.

Hi Red. i can relate to each and every one of those symptoms. I have had them all. they caused me so much anguish in the beginning i really thought i was going mad and was going to land up in a straight jacket. if i had not found this board with all the same kind of symptoms i don't know what i would have done. i have not been diagnosed, but have been for an MRI and it showed nothing but slight sinusitus. it sure sounds like middle ear to me. the symptoms have got slightly better. hang in there, try not to freak out completely when it happens. this too will pass.

Hello,

I can relate to your problem somewhat. For many years, I've felt I've had a blockage in my head (poor circulation). If I turn around a lot, I get a strange sensation in my eyes. It's almost as if my eyes won't move. I often feel lightheaded (not really vertigo) as well. I just don't think there's enough blood flow in my head or something. Doctors always told me there's nothing wrong with me. So, I've decided to just live with it. It will always remain a mystery to me.

From the head down, I'm fine. :)

I wish you the very best. I wish I could help you more. ;)

I have had this problem too! I have been posting on different sections of health boards because i'm not sure what is even wrong with me. When I try to look at things, sometimes my eyes just kind of flutter around. It's hard to look at people when they're talking to me. I have no idea what causes this; if anyone has any suggestions, let us know! I've had other symptoms, but these could probably all stem from the same general problem; for example, my sinuses feel like they're filled with pressure right now.
