I went swimming after being out of shape for a very long time. (I gained mucho weight after a year of sitting on my butt in a cube and then being in bed with mono for months after quitting). I'm trying to get back down to my normal size which may take a while since it took a long time to put the weight on.
Today I swam for an hour and then went into the spa. I don't know how long I was in there (but it felt good) but after I got out, I was shakey, dizzy and feeling faint.
Is this a normal way to feel after getting out of a spa?
I'm not going to do that again if that happens. I'll stick to swimming.
Thanks!

You stayed in too long, but I doubt you did any permanent damage. The heat really relaxes your muscles and may do a number on your blood pressure if you overindulge.
I know it feels *really* good, but try to limit yourself to short visits. You don't want to get dizzy and drown. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif

Wow! And I thought I was having some sort of panic attack or seizure! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/redface.gif
http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif That really freaked me out and you got it! My muscles were really relaxed. No wonder I couldn't walk!
Thanks for the info! I'll be sure to limit myself to five minutes if that.

By "spa", do you mean steam room or heat room?
We have both at my gym. One produces steam so thick that you can't breath. The other is just plain ole hot, no steam, just hot.
Whenever I stay in the steam room for too long, I get VERY dizzy and lightheaded.

I mean the bubble tub with the heat that's 104° and the jets that move the water around.
They had a steam room and the other room. One was 100-105° and the other one was around 116° or so. After the tub, I don't think I could go into the rooms. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/redface.gif
