i want to lose fat. i was thinking. i can do about 45 min of cardio exercises a day for 6days like most people suggested. does cardio exercises also include push-up and situps. i was wondering if i can do 30 min of running and 10min of pushups and situp. when i am doing pushups and situps, i can also work out the muscles. or does anyone else have some other suggestion
Push-ups and sit-ups are not cardio exercises but that should not prevent you from doing them along with cardio. Just don't count minutes spent doing them as part of your cardio workout.

I would only do 30-45 minutes max. I also wouldn't do 10 minutes of push-up / sit-up. By using free weights, you will use your abdominal muscles as well and not even realize it. So, you will end up pulling a muscle if you do this everyday. You should only train your abs every other day or only 3 days a week. You need time for your ab muscles to repair, just like all other muscles.
If you are trying to accomplish weight loss, then you need to up the cardio (running, stationary bike, eliptical machine, swimming) and watch your food intake. Just by doing push-up and sit-up won't help you lose the "gut". Diet plays a MAJOR role. I would watch the high fat foods, as well as carbs. Be sure to drink plenty of water!
Good Luck!
