Hi Maria,

Yup, Cipramil is my poison for this head garbage and it has worked well on many occasions. I start on a half tab for the first week (10 mg) and then bump it up to 15 mg on week 2. So far 15 mg or 3/4 has always been enough for me. The less I use the better I figure as it keeps the side effects lower. One side effect to be aware of is weight gain. It takes serious self-discipline to not stuff yourself with carbohydrate while on it. Besides that and a possible drop in your libido, it will make this ride very smooth while weathering the storm - particularly if your case generates excessive anxiety.

Best.....Scott

Hi!

I've been on citalopram since mid-december last year. First 2 weeks on 10mg and on 20mg since then. It took about two weeks for it to start working (significantly reducing anxiety).

Alex.

Hi Maria.

my GP started me on a 1/4 of a 10mg tab. But only because i was really anxious about side effects (funny funny anxious about anxiety meds) and because i'm small - i weigh 47kgs. After a week i moved onto 1/2 and now i'm on 1 tab (10mg). If i were you i would def start with a 1/2 for a week. ease your system into it. As i've mentioned before this particular SSRI has the least side effects and perhaps like me you will have none. Good luck.

Hi,

So the entire tablet is just 10 mg? From my experience, 10 mg is a good maintenance dose but not enough to knock this thing out of action. I'd start at 10 mg then bump it up as I mentioned earlier in 1/4 increments. It will take about 2 weeks to feel a full change. It might make things worse for the first week but tough it out. It'll settle down and you'll feel tons better.

Best...Scott
