Was it really hard and leave you reeling the rest of the day??? sheriff56 05-30-2007, 05:30 PM Not really no, it was more assesment on the first visit, we only went through a few exercises the first time, the second was more thorough Jayne dizzyandsad 05-30-2007, 05:40 PM Not really no, it was more assesment on the first visit, we only went through a few exercises the first time, the second was more thorough Jayne I am not sure if I am havign a second one . My insurance will only cover the first visit unless the therapist thinks I will require more so I need to tell her that tomorrow and she will have to write to my insurance but if not she may put me through more?? sheriff56 05-30-2007, 06:38 PM It may work differently for you in the US I went under the NHS care in the UK, she was brilliant, had, I think it was 8 sessions in total then moved onto Phone support where I can ring in if I need to talk to her and she calls me every 4-6 weeks. I think it varies from hospital to hospital anyway, as someone I know here in a different part of the uk only got 2 visits?? Jayne Jaxzilla 05-30-2007, 06:51 PM D&S, I wouldnt worry about how many visits you have to see the PT, just do your exercises a few times a day. The PT is only going to give you exercises and show you how to do them, and have you continue them at home. Thats really the only way of to recovery and have a positive atitude. It's not like you had surgery and have to rehabilitate a knee or a back, its all about your brain getting it. You are retraining your brain, thats it. Sounds easy right!!! Have you been doing the exercises Charolette and others have written on the boards or the ones on the internet??? From doing my VRT's early on, i am at 99% most of the time. Every PT is different. I went through a series of small tests before I was given VRT's to do...i also had BPPV, so it was a little different. Dont worry, VRT exercises are your healer, they are mine. Jax dizzyandsad 05-30-2007, 06:56 PM Yeah I have been doing some VRT's everyday for about a month now. I am just worried that PT will be really intense and since I feel like crap right now it will be wretched and I have so many errands to run tomorrow. Right now I am soooo dizzy. Trying not to take a meclizine cause it has been at least a week since I have taken one! Jaxzilla 05-30-2007, 07:00 PM Your PT will most likely just show you how to do them. If he/she knows that you have to drive, your PT will not have you do them. DO them EVERYDAY, even if you have to put somthing aside for 10 minutes. Do your VRTs 3 times a day, it will bring on dizziness, but in the long run you will thank yourself for doing them. |
