My first post here and I hope this helps someone because I know the suffering that is caused by headaches.
I am 42 years old and untill last year I had suffered intense migraine headaches that made me wish for death. I had these headaches on average 3 times a month and they would last for up to 3 days. I would be unable to sleep or to do anything but lay around and suffer unbeleivable pain that would make me nauseus. No pain meds even made a dent in the pain and would actually make things worse because anything that went in came back up. I recently moved and my new doctor prescribed a med named atenolol, a very small blood pressure med that has 100% eliminated my migraine headaches. I realize that this is not a cure for everyones suffering and everyone is different but if this helps 1 person get the relief from the headaches that make you wish for nothing but death then this info is worth it. If you suffer these monsters then ask your md about Atenolol, mine said migraine relief is a side effect of this med, finally a good side effect:wave:

Silverking, :)

You've done everyone a big favour by posting this information!
They are great and very effective for dealing with several medical issues, including migraine headaches.

I have been taking Labetalol (a combo alpha/beta blocker) for 7 months now and am being weaned off of this one. I could not function with the combined side effects of all of my BP meds. Labetalol is suspected in causing my breathing problems - made more severe through interactions with my other meds.

My problem now: since cutting my max dose by 1/2, I have had a non-stop headache. (3 1/2 weeks now). Now I am supposed to stop it completely-on 400mg right now.
I wonder if one can develop a headache while being weaned off this drug!

Sorry, the above quote should have been at the top of this post.
