I'm in the process of requesting copies of my MRI report from, like, almost two years ago! I didn't think to ask for a copy when the test was done but I've had several people tell me to get a copy. I talked to one lady I work with and she said her doctor said everything looked ok on her MRI and then prescribed a medicine. When it worked for her he said it confirmed what he saw on the MRI. Now I'm curious. I seen my neuro last month and told him I was beginning to experience these flare ups of neuropathy on the right side of my body again. He prescribed Pamelor and said he wanted to see me back in August.

I'm curious - if you got copies of your MRI's and was diagnosed with Migraines, what did your MRI report say?

Well, I did just go through this and I actually did bring my MRI report & CD home with me, and just for the fun of it (ok, I know that sounds weird) my SIL & I looked at the Cd, which is like looking at the films. He is a Med Student, and I am pretty familiar with brain scans since my son had 2 brain surgeries, so we had a fun half hour looking. I had a few white spots that we both felt ought not to have been there, but things looked normal. I also had the radiologist report, too. He'd said there were indicators of possible STROKES. That freaked me out. Super long story and four wrong diagnoses later, I did not and do not suffer from strokes, but I still have migraines in spite of taking a large prophylactic dose of Topomax am & pm. Very weird, but having had both MRI & MRA'S plus a ton of other scans, I at least know my h/a's aren't due to narrowed arteries or such. Now I have an appt in Oct. to go to a h/a clinic.
I was hoping the MRI would show a clear reason for the h/as. Sometimes they do--often they don't. Usually they are just used to rule out other things. When you get you MRI, try to get a copy of the radiolgists report, too. It might help you to understand what's going on.
All the best!
Liz
