View Full Version : Perianal Fistula

Long story short: Am brand new here and desperate! I have had seven surgeries (two by GYN surgeons, five by Mayo colorectal surgeons) to try and clear this up including four transanal advancement flaps (one with fibrin glue, and two using surgis plugs). None have been successful. Doctors are now recommending either a fistulotomy or seton stitch. The fistula is located low in the rectum and drains near the posterial wall of the vagina. I do not have Crohns or any other bowel disease. Am looking for info about fistulotomies and/or seton stitch which include success rates, pain management, and anything else I should know.
