Hi, I have been on creatine for 4 days now and I am still on my first week of loading stage. I read that there have been some people on creatine that have had diarea (excuse spelling) from it, well my ... (lol) crap has been very soft and i have been going to the toilet alot more than usual. Is that from the creatine and diarea could be coming on from it or could it be because i have increased the amount of water i have been drinking dramatically to keep up with the creatine. Please reply back a.s.a.p. Really worried. Thanks

Yup. Creatine can have than effect. It's usually because Creatine Monohydrate is not very soluble and can get to your gut without being absorbed. The granuals start messing things up when they get there. It should pass with time though. If you want to, taking smaller doses more often can help until your body gets used to it e.g. instead of 5g 4 times a day, take 2.5 grams 8 times a day. Alternativly, try a more soluble creatine supplement like Tricreatine Malate.

Hmm... Do you think the possibility exists that you're taking too much creatine? Another factor that may be contributing to your diarrhea is diet.
I take about 10-12 grams of the powdered creatine monohydrate & mix it with approx. 16 oz. of grape juice(sometimes I use the ones that have only 10% juice in it) and sip on it throughout the course of 3 hrs while at work. Then I'll take another 5 grams about 45 minutes prior to my workout.
I haven't experienced any change in stool texture since I started using it.

Another alternative might be to try effervesent creatine. Slightly more expensive but it absorbs better.

in solution creatine very quickly converts to carnitine...which is useless to the body. Im not sure how long it takes, but im pretty certain its darn qick. This is the reason all the serum creatines are BS.
