Hello everyone,
My question regards my husband: he has what seems to be an enlarged spleen, the area just below his ribs protrudes a little bit and has grown bigger since he first noticed it almost a year ago. Since then he has also had a few nosebleeds and lately has been taking naps everyday. He doesnt want to go to the doctor's because he feels "ok". He had a blood analysis end of 2006 and it came out fine.
Can anyone shed light on his condition?
Thanks for reading,
Madeleine

Enlarged spleen and naps brings to mind mono (infectious mononucleosis), although it could be many other things. Nosebleeds suggests high blood pressure. Fatigue can also have something to do with the heart. Are you sure it's his spleen or is it his abdomen that is enlarging? My husband was very tired and started retaining a lot of fluid, especially in his abdomen - turned out he was in congestive heart failure, but he was felling lousy for quite a while before that. The retaining fluid happened relatively quickly, over a period of a week or so. (He's much better now.)

I'd take him to the doctor, just in case.

Good luck.

Hi,
Thanks for replying.Glad your husband is doing better.
Will let you know what happens if he agrees to go to the doctor's.
