 Hi there
Well first talk to your Pediatrician, all though many including mine didn’t think my child was Autistic, but I went to my local Regional Center (Far northern Regional Center). They are the ones who diagnose and provide services. If you go to the site www.learningaswegoautism.com under references they have web addresses to the Regional Centers, ARC and Autism society. They should know how to find help for you in your community. Even if your Pediatrician does not suspect Autism and you want a second opinion, He or she should know where to go to find out and normally you do not need a doctor’s referral.
If your child is Autistic try not to let it get you down it is Amazing experiece to have an Autistic child, although I still morn for my child to play like his siblings do, I really do love Cadence for who he is and he has such a great personality and he brings our family lots of laughs and love. It really is not a sad thing.
Sincerely Brandi:wave:

How old is your child... If your child is younger then three then i would contact early intervention and set up a evaulation with them.

hi jane, are you in the UK? if so you need to start with a referral from your doctor , then your file will get passed on to a peaditrician who can make an observational assesment, it all takes ages and they are all very vague. hope this helps, things are much slower in the uk.

hi jane, we have been trying to get a writen diagnosis from ur paeditrician for ages! she has said cameron is on the spectrum but they need to do some more observation before they can say where he is exactly! this is very frustrating as to get help etc. you need it in writing! it sounds as if you are on your way if your son is already getting seen by professionals, you will just have to push them and pester them! i have found that is the only way to get any answers!
just be strong and keep pushing.
