I've had this problem for well over 3 years now, basically one winter after an especially snowy day, my toe swelled up around the nail all pink and bright and itchy, after that the nail stopped growing, I visited my doctor who told me it would grow eventually and refused to take any samples for testing. Since then the nail stops growing and then starts again each time only growing about a centimetre before stopping and restarting a new layer of growth on top of the old one. This has happened 3 times with 3 layers, only now it has stopped growing new layers and seems to be growing but with a sort of deformed smaller shape. The nail is now a yellowy colour. Any suggestions?
