So, I've had these small red spots - lots of them - in several places on my body for 4 - 6 weeks now. My doc first blew it off as folliculitis or hemangiomas, but I know differently. In fact, they're getting worse (i.e. more of them & redder aka more noticeable).

On top of this, I've had symptoms like:

Easy bruising (i.e. lots of bruises, seem to happen for no reason)
Badly Swollen - sometimes tender - Lymph Nodes for about 3 MONTHS
L Side Pain
SEVERE Exhaustion
Weak (more than normal)
Normal Joint Pain Worse
Normal Memory Problems Worse
Pale Episodes
Nausea
Sometimes Dizzy
...and so on

I'll tell ya now. I've been dx w/ SLE (lupus), but I wonder if I wasn't mis-dx. I'm wondering if that isn't a possibility right now OR if this is some kind of complication.

Any thoughts?

when was the last time you had your FULL labs run?i mean everything from kidney, liver metabolics?i do think they need to be run again from whenever thay were last done.there could be a huge list of possible reasons for your symptoms that some would either be confirmed or ruled out with some basic bloodwork, you know?once you get those results back,it would point the doc in the right direction.unfortunetly any real dx of anything is alot of basic detective work.seeing a rheumy doc may be of some help as well.i know when i was referred to mine, geez, the very first visit we drew blood and had like three full pages of various blood tests done, some had to be sent out to another state, just trying to see if there were underlying reasons for my knee symptoms.it was the most comprhensive set of labs i had ever had in my life, and i have had ALOT of labs.you just need a agressive type of doc who is willing to go that bit extra to find out what is really going on.if your symptoms just do not fit with any real dx you have been given than most likely,it isn't it,ya know?you just have to keep pushing things with your doc.i had to do this too, otherwise they tend to just blow you off.when you feel that something is just not right, you deserve to have it evaluated further.good luck and please keep me posted as to what you find out,K? I have a rheumy that dx me lupus about 4 years ago. I have a REAL problem w/ my docs - any of them - being agressive or taking me seriously enough. I doubt that I'll have test done as extensively as what you described. That's why I research & get on here b/c I'm really at my "wits end".

While it's good to find a doctor to work with you and have faith in what you are telling them I like to go the natural route first.

Lack of B vitamins can cause all those things you have except the petechiae or scurvy. That's a lack of vitamin C. lacking Vit C can also cause bruising, aching joints, swollen or painful joints, fatigue. B6 causes dermatitis, fatigue etc.
Lack of Niacin (B3)- pellagra, loss of appetite, gastrointestinal disturbance insomnia etc.
Lack of riboflavin -skin rash digestive disturbances, emotional changes etc
Lack of B12 - pernicious anemia that can cause paleness, weakness and fatigue ,poor appetite etc
lac of Thiamin (B1) -fatigue ,insomnia, aches & pains, weakness etc
Laco of Folic Aicd - pernicious anemia (large cell type) depression , and it mimics the symptons of B12 deficeincy.

I'm not saying that this is the answer of your problems. I don't have insurance so I try to figure things out first before I go to the doctor. A simple blood and urine test can see if you are defecient. Some people can not utilize vitamins especially B vit's. Processed foods, sugar foods, meds, caffine destroy the vitamins. Some people need B shots.

Lot's and lot's of info out there to read about it, I just read that B12 defeciency mimics Lymes disease and MS.

Well, I take a really good multivitamin, calcium, and a monthly B12 injection. I also have bloodwork done a few times year to check for deficiencies. The only thing I've had a problem w/ i selenium which has been taken care of. Thanks for trying though. :D

just an FYI here, but if your docs are not willing to do their jobs for you,it really IS time to move onto a much more caring and aggressive type of doc who will actually listen to your concerns and WANT to find out what is wrong with you.that is just ridiculous.you obviously have something going on that needs further evaluation in order to just get the right Dx.i have moved on from another doc who just seemed like i was a number to them and not a real human being with real medical problems.you just do have the right to appropriate medical care.if one doc fails you this way, move onto one who will take you and your symptoms more seriously.they ARE out there, trust me,you just need to seek them out.i have had to do this several times for my many freaky medical problems.believe me you wont be hurting their feelings since it doesn't appear they even have any in the first place or they would WANT to help their patient find the proper Dx,you know?start asking your friends who they see for a primary doc and then see if they are in your ins program.word of mouth really IS the best way to find the good ones.and also find out about the bad ones too.don't ever forget that any doc is actually working FOR YOU,not the other way around.they just have certain responsibilities to you as their patient, and when they don't live up to that, well, move on.i wish you luck, please keep us posted as to how things are going,K? Yea, I know, and I have switched before...more so w/ specialist them PCP. I was actually scheduled to switch my PCP when she decided to do such an extensive work up. So, I'm waiting for those results & will decide afterwards depending on her.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I'm usually a doormat when it comes to things like that b/c I hate confrontation & feel...I don't know...is guilty the word...probably not.
