I've been dealing with fissures for a while now. Does anyone else experience abdominal cramping and going to the bathroom alot more? Also the pain or should I say burning seems constant now. I don't remember with the last flair up this happening.

Yes, I am having a lot of the same problems. I am going to a different surgeon on the 13th of June to correct this fissure and hopefully that will take care of the problem.

I'll tell you what. Now I am cramping in my stomach and feel so bloated. Someone here at work said she had the fissures and the doctor she went to gave her some kind of compound that you put on three times per day. She said in a couple of days it went away and she hasn't had one since. I need to find out about that. Hopefully the fissures and stomach problems and lower abdomin cramping is something that isn't because of the fissures. Thanks for your reply

I had a really bad fissure once, but I cant relate to the stomach or adominal problems, but what helped mine heal up was by taking manny hot - warm baths a day, and expecially after a bowel movement. The warm baths do a number of things, they clean the fissure, they promote the healing by increasing blood flow to the area, they hydrate it, and the warm baths also help to cut down on the pain.

I have one and i havent used the cream.
I have to do it every 12 hours which is difficult to do!
It is large but shallow and feels weird but not too bad.

I've been dealing with a chronic fissure with a "tag" that gets inflamed. I'm using nifedipine ointment with some improvement. Is is possible that your abdominal pain/bloating is from a change in diet? In an effort to ease the discomfort of fissures many people increase fiber/change their diet, which could trigger the symptoms you described. For me, I found that additional fiber actually made thing worse. What has helped is taking Miralax. Good luck! Lynn

Can you please explain a fissure to me? I am 29 and I think I have one, I have large bm's sometimes that feel as if they are ripping me open (sorry TMI) And I think one healed weird and it is just kinda like loose skin/tag. I only have discomfort when I have large bm"s and firm ones, I see blood when I wipe. I had a colonoscopy some years back and I have ibs and internal hemroids, I don't think what I have is a hemroid although it got worse when I was preganant last year.
any advice?
thanks
