You will konk out! I remember "nothing" about my colonoscopy 5 years ago. they start the IV, tell you ro roll over on your side and "nighty-night". I woke up in the recovery room after it was all over. Nothin to worry about.
GL with your procedure. Let us know how it went.

Ladida,
The colonoscopy doesn't hurt at all. Like Mark said, you go under (in kind of a twilight) and wake up and it's all over. You won't remember anything so make sure who ever goes with you talks to the doctor afterwards and remembers what he says (cause you won't).
As far as the day before your procedure, you can make the jello and put in fridge. Usually the doctors will tell you not to eat anything that is red. Just clear liquids. Clear soups, I took a can of Chicken noodle soup, heated it and just ate the broth. popcicles (as long as they are not red). Hot tea, apple juice, 7-Up.
You'll be on the pot after you take your medicine so don't plan on going anywhere that evening.
Again, this is what I was suppose to do (did your nurse or doctor tell you any of this?). I did not experience cramping or nausea.
Good luck to you and keep us informed. I'll be thinking of you and keep us informed.

You will be fine. I was probably as scared as you are right now, but I never felt a thing. What I had to eat the day before was only chicken broth. Also make sure you drink plenty of water!! The water helps with the elimination process and it also helps keep you hydrated. Don't be alarmed if you see yellow colored watery stools - this is normal. Hang in there - you'll be fine

I had to drink a "gallon" of this clear, bland, odd tasting liquid the entire day before my colonoscopy! I can't remember the name of it, and I only got thru about 3/4 of the gallon, which I thought was pretty good from what I've heard. I cleaned me out like a whistle! And like Claudia said, DON'T go anywhere that day, cause you'll be wearing out the carpet to the bathroom! LOL!!
GL.... you'll be fine. No Biggie!

I know it's scary, but I agree with the other posters - it is NOTHING to worry about. I did the Osmoprep (pill form) and it really didn't kick in for me for quite awhile. I started at around 6pm and I think my first bowel movement from it wasn't until after midnight. I had no stomach pain, cramps, etc. As for the actualy procedure, you won't remember or feel a thing. I remember talking to my doctor and the next thing I knew my husband was waking me up in the recovery area. It's all good!
Good luck to you!

dont worry i had a colonoscopy a few years back and its not bad at all.your out of it the whole time you really dont know whats going on.you may wake up for a mnute but feel nothing.if you feel pain they tell you to pas gas and that fixes it .its over before you know it.
