Hello all. To cut a long story short I've been dealing with what most of my docs seem to 'guess' is anxiety. Having tried the benzo treatmnet (worked very wll but the addiction isn't so pleasant) I foolishly took some Dihydrocodeine tabs (pure Dihydrocodeine - nothing else added). on and off I think I took them for about five or six days not consecutively. Sometimes just 60mg and sometimes 120 milligram. Am feeling very depressed now I've stopped and am looking for some advice on tpering off (currently living in west africa in an area where the drug itself is far easier to get than medical attention. Haven't had any 'bad' side affects but am eager to get off these tabs at the risk of becoming ana ddict (at least now I can empathise with drug addicts in a way I couldn't before). Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help you can give.:)

Hello Soodle

Nice to meet you. Soodle, if you have only been using the narcotic inconsistently for 5 or 6 days, then just STOP. Addiction to the "diawhatever" is probably just around the corner, minutes away probably.

Narcotics potentiate one another when used simutaneously.. benzos potentiate opiates and vice versa. Stop playing with fire immediately!
The depression comes from mixing those drugs. It will dissapate soon. Hang on for a few days and learn well from this experience, my friend.

Best wishes
