I am a healthy 32 yo female. I recently had a CT scan of my chest/abdomen done. I was having severe flushing of my face/chest/back, and that's what prompted the CT.

The results of the CT scan showed an inhomogeneous thymus gland. 1.6 cm sized area of my thymus gland which was a different density from the entirety. I don't understand much of this... my GP sent me to see a pulmonologist, who told me he didn't want to do surgery to take it out just yet, and to wait 2 months for another CT. He said it is probably 'nothing to worry about'... but if it is something, would probably be in the area of 'lymphoma'.

I'm just wondering if there is anything else that can be done. He said it is a difficult area to biopsy... but I've read about others having a biopsy of the thymus.

Should I be asking for, or doing more? I hate the waiting... I'm an already anxious mother of 3 very young children, and it's so difficult to wait. I am certainly hoping it is nothing, but if it is something, I want to know and move forward.

Any advice or suggestions?

Thank you for reading.
