Hi everyone, I am brand new here. I have about 30 pounds to lose and have been trying to stick to a 1500 calorie a day diet, so far finding that I am constantly hungry and have not been able to eat less than 2000 cal. a day without feeling famished. I am taking continuous-dosing birth control, that is I only have a period 4x/year. I LOVE this set-up, I truly had horrible periods and would be so nauseous and in pain I would have to stay home for the first couple days. I've been doing this for about a year and I haven't gained weight but I'm wondering if the pill can make it difficult to lose weight. A friend was telling me that when you're on the pill it tricks your body into thinking you're pregnant so you're body wants to hold on to extra weight no matter what. I've been doing 45 min. of elliptical machine 5 days a week (for the past 3 weeks), burning about 600 calories with each session and haven't seen any weight loss yet. I'm also very hungry ALL the time, especially throughout the morning up until lunch. Input anyone?

I agree. When I was on the pill I had intense cravings all the time.

I'm on birth control and I've lost weight. Keep those hunger pangs at bay with water

I was on this one generic form of bc called Avane or something like that. Throughout my duration of taking it I gained about 20 pounds. Not all at one time, but throughout 6 months I was hungry nonstop. Eventually I decided enough was enough so I went to the doctor and had it changed. I had it changed to Ortho Tricyclin Lo. When I started taking this I appeared to loose some weight very quickly. (10 lbsish). I am not exactly sure how this all ties into gaining or loosing weight but these are my experiences with it.
