Hi all! I am new here. I have been sick for a couple of years. Been dx with different things. But b/c I have constant pelvic cramping and pain I looked up ovarian cancer.
Here is my question...
I just had a ct with contrast of my chest, abdomen and pelvis. It came back clean. I was shocked. I have a hospital ba packed and ready to go. In case the pain ever gets too strong. So my question is I know they often use an ultrasound to dx ovarian cancer. Is there any way that a ct could actually miss or not pick up problems in the ovaries or uterus?????

Please let me know I am in pain. I follow up with the onc on Monday. ANd I see my obgyn on Wed. But this question is taking my breath away!!!!

Pls help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They always could see my ovarian cancer when they did CT or ultrasounds. I wouldn't imagine that it would be very likely that they would completely miss ovarian cancer, especially since it soundsl like they were somewhat looking for it. Plus traditionally when you start having pains related to ovarian cancer you would be in the later stages. which would for sure be detectable in a CT.

Good luck. I hope they can figure out what is causing your pain so they can give you some relief.

Hi, have you ever been checked for endometriosis? It can cause a lot of the symptoms you are having.

I hope you get some relief and answers from your doctors soon.

Big hugs,

Lisa
