I took my shot and then realized it was only Tuesday. I just took one last night. It says not to do that and if you do, call your Dr. right away. Has anyone ever done this, and if so, what was the reaction. I talked to someone from MS Lifelines and she said that I would probably have more severe side effects, but she didn't really know what would happen and to watch myself and call my dr. if anything goes wrong. I'm really scared now and I just don't know what it will do to me. My husband is away on business, and I am alone, so I was wondering what to watch for...

Cm,
I'm about the last person that should reply to this, since I have no experience with MS meds, but you sound so nervous I just wanted to mention a few things. First off , do you have any family or friends nearby?? I would just hang out with someone just in case you start to not feel well. Secondly, whenever I am in question about an emergency health situation I just call the ER and talk to one of the nurses or doctors, or the poison control hotline. If they think it's something of concern they'll just tell you to come in for a look-see. I hope you get some more answers before morning. It really sucks having this stuff happen at nite right before bed. :(
Please keep in close contact here. I want to make sure you're ok!

Bella.
Thank you for your concern. I was able to get in touch with my neurologist and he has somewhat comforted me by telling me that there is no danger in it, I will have double the symptoms I usually have, which are the flue symptoms. So I'm looking forward to a night of aches and pains and chills. But I was so scared of something worse, that I don't mind. I do not have any family here, they are all back East, so your reply and concern really meant a lot to me. I didn't feel so alone. Thanks so much!

Awwe, glad you're ok, and I was of some help! You had me so worried I posted this questions on another MS site..lol Well, just make some tea and get the fuzzy slippers and a good book, and try to relax. Sometimes the worst fear is not knowing what to expect. Now you know you can deal with it, and know next time you'll never do that again. ;)

CM,
I managed to do that once as well & I also know someone else that did it too. As if its not bad enough doing it & getting the flu symptoms etc - doing it twice in a row isnt too nice!! Anyway we were both fine & I honestly dont think I felt all that much worse. Didnt do it again though!!
Glad your ok though - it is a bit worrying & its great you could get in touch with your neuro. If I needed to see or speak to mine, I'd be waiting at least a fortnight! Its been all over the news here recently - theres 10K people in Ireland with MS & 17 neuros!! Great health system we have here. But arent we lucky to have this board for questions & worries;)

Thank you for taking the time to reassure me. I did get through the night without any problems. It was scary, though, and I will definitely not do that again. Yes, my neuro has been great, and unfortunately we're moving and I have to give him up. Hopefully I will find someone as thoughful and caring as he is. It's too bad that there are not more neuro's where you are. It must be difficult to have something going on and not be able to see your dr. right away. I wish you luck with all of this.

I think its not the luck of the Irish we need here unfortunately, its a huge improvement in our health system. Was all the talk during our elections, doubt there'll be any changes now thats over - all talk no action. Fortunately, the support system for MS is quite good. Good nurses & the drug companies are great too - our nurse phones every mth or two to check up & give advise etc. Plus the medication is free with or without insurance - cant complain too much, can I
