Well I'm new here and had a few questions. I found out I had Meniere's disease after having surgery. I had come home the day after surgery and couldn't hear out of my right ear. Then a headache. It would last all day, then the next day I would wake up and it would be gone. This happened abot every 3rd. day. Finally after about 4 attacks I went to see the doctor and had tests on my ear, which that day I couldn't hear out of. Then the very next day I could hear again but woke up so dizzy I couldn't walk. I have Meclizine which helped greatly. Now, I went back to the doctor to go over my results and he told me I had Meniere's disease.

Now, I have the attacks about every 2 - 3 weeks. It follows a very specific pattern. The doctor said I will eventually loose my hearing in my right ear.

I'm wondering how long most people's attacks last? Mine can last 4 -5 hours or a full day. Also Meclizine is not working as well now, what other meds are out there? When I get a really bad attack I can not walk and my balance stays "wobbly" for several days. Does this sound about right?
Thanks
Dizzysteve
