I always seem to have fluid in both ears along with the pressure and popping sounds. At times, I get a throbbing behind the right one. The dr. says it's caused by allergies. Just wondering....when I am on the computer, and if I'm scrolling down a page quickly, I sometimes get the feeling of being "off balance, not necessarily dizzy, but my equilibrium seems off"...could this be caused by the fluid in my ears? Also, does anyone get a pounding heart with their ear "problems?"

I get that too - I have a fullness in both ears, popping whenever I swallow or yawn, unbalanced at times especially when there is alot of visual stimulation (computer, lights, sun, etc.) and one of my doctors told me it was all related to allergies and migraines. I am starting allergy shots this week and hopefully I will start to notice some improvement in a few months.

Yes, it's this fluid build up that I believe is causing all these dizzy and fatigue problems. My doctor said it was allergies too but i've been on allergy shots since last fall and I ended up getting my ear pressure this year starting in February. So if it is indeed allergies, then allergy shots are not effective. Unless I have food allergies in which I haven't been tested for yet. The dr says to take antihistimines but I am confused by that because if it's allergies causing my problems, then why don't I have the usual allergy symptoms like sneezing and sinus congestion? I've had allergies all my life and have never experienced this ear thing before. But I figured I'd try taking the antihistimes for longer than I tried before. I've been on them for 2 days now and it may be my imagination but the pressure and anxiety are not as bad. I still feel woozy though. I'll give it more time and see if they clear up the extra ear fluid.

Laura, I don't have the typical sinus issues either, nasal congestion, sneezing, etc. I just have this awful ear pressure, popping, ringing, and anxiety. The other night, I slept with the fan on and I woke up with my ears stopped up and the anxiety was just awful. I can't take decongestants and such. I tried one of the homeopathic ear drops a few months back and wound up with pink eye...the first time I ever had it...it was like all the nasty stuff from my ear was coming out of my eye. TMI....it was just all green discharge (eye) and the reddest eye I have ever seen. But, my ear felt better for awhile. I just don't understand the anxiety part...it's not like the ear stuff is all new.

before i couldn't take antihistimes and decongestants before, but since i got this ear thing, i don't notice the side effects as bad. I don't know if i should be taking this sort of stuff though but I figured after almost 4 months of this, i need to do something. And Maisie, yes, computer use can aggravate symptoms especially when scrolling down. When I first got this, I couldn't stand looking at the computer for more than 15 minutes, now it's not as hard to look at.
