Hey all! Soon after I eat food, like, 3 or 4 hours, my stomach starts to growl! It's very embarassing!! I go to school, and you're not allowed to eat in class, and there's no snack break, and I don't exactly want to walk around eating food. I usually eat two (chocolate ^_^ ) poptarts in the morning. I've tried eating like..what was it? I think it was 4 poptarts, I think I've tried 2 poptarts and 2 waffles, and 4 waffles. Something like that. And my stomach still growls! What can I do?!

I think I've expanded my stomach...

Part of the problem may be what you're eating. Pop Tarts and waffles aren't going to stay with you for long, because they're mostly carbs. You need to eat something with some protein and enough fat to stick with for a while. (Yes, "fat" is a dreaded concept, but the truth is you NEED fat in your diet.. you just have to regulate your intake, as with anything.)

No matter how many Pop Tarts or waffles you eat, you're likely to be hungry shortly thereafter. Personally, I hate most breakfast foods. I usually just have a small turkey sandwich for breakfast. I make it the night before, and it's ready to eat in the morning. You might also try string-cheese for something to stick with you more.

Not only are pop tarts and waffles only carbs, thery're mostly simple carbs. Which means they digest quickly and spike your insulin levels. Once the insulin uses up the sugar, your body is expecting continued food from fiber, protein, and fat. That's why you're hungry! So you'd be better off eating a balanced meal.
