Okay this may be hard for you to beleive, but I track my weight 3 or 4 times a day along with everything that goes into my system. the point is that, after graphing my weight versus my calculated weight (from calorie counting), i can determine lean mass gained with good confidence. i must stress that i'm not seriously gaining mass at this point. i'm cutting down first, so i'm not following standard bulking protocol.
in short, i have been losing weight lately. i plan to bulk when i reach my target body composition. my diet is so exacting that any fluctuation in muscle gain is detectable. i know exactly how hydrated i am at different times in the day, and also my body goes through 3 day hydration-dehydration cycles of about 1.5 pounds (it's wierd, but it's true).
i have a point though... i do. first i admit i don't do legs as much as i should. i did a seriously animal leg routine on monday and i've been sore since; however, i think i have gained 1 pound of lean tissue from that routine alone. all other activities and diet are constant, but the graph of my body mass versus my calculated body mass diverges by 1 pound. i was wondering if this gain is possible? 1 4 day reparation cycle on big muscles can build 1 pound of lean tissue? it seems possible. also, is mass gained only on the repair day (final day)? then is it possible for that one pound of mass to be built during one single night? i'm still not really sure about how this mass gaining thing works.
once my steady state weight reduction slope levels off, i could post the graph that shows the 1 pound divergence. it's pretty cool so far-- a little excessive i agree-- but i'm a strange dude.
