Hi. I'm not diabetic, but was given a monitor to watch because of family history and strange episodes. Anyway tonight I went to a tennis lesson and during the lesson I became dizzy and almost passed out. My sugar tends to be a little low sometimes so I though it was low. I went to my car to check it and it was 158. I've checked several times since I have been home and it is still 140s to 150s. I still don't feel good.

I have ate very healthy today and not really ate anything sugary at all. I had wheat toast for breakfast w/ soy cheese. Brown rice and steamed vegtables.

Could exercise made my sugar go up? Just looking for some sort of explanation of what is going on. Thanks for any help!

Exercise can make your blood sugar go up. The adrenaline rush you get causes higher blood sugars, and makes your liver dump out glucose. Careful though, because it will drop fast afterwards.

I know you aren't used to being high, but I still wouldn't think a 158 would make you feel like passing out.

I agree that 158 in the grand scheme of things is not high. Also, forget about eating anything sugary, any carbohydrate will be metabolized to sugar so the rice and toast you ate would increase your blood sugar.

I know that the first time I checked myself after a soccer game I was shocked to see my sugar at almost 260, an hour later it had dropped to 85.
