800mgs (200am, 600pm)- no sickness...

If you're finding you're getting sickness ask for splitting your doses between am and pm... Also, ask about tegretol retard (an extended release tablet so your system isn't flooded with the drug in one go - helped with my memory prob),

I just recently stopped taking Tegretol, 400mg twice daily. I took it for three months. I was nauseous the whole time. Sometimes I even puked or dry heaved. I hated that feeling and found if I coat my stomach with food, every couple of hours, I felt better.

I'm on 600mgs p.m and 400mgs a.m (600mgs in the works for a.m).. When I first started it I was just like Dan but with visual hallucinations... Now I'm getting visual halluncinations just adding another 200mgs in the p.m. I hate it, I'm hoping it doesn't last long since it's already in my system.

My husband and son have both taken Tegretol. My husband is thinking about going back on it because it helped him sleep. My son has a paradoxical reaction to meds and it made him a little hyper so he took it in the morning. They didn't have any complaints about it, in fact they both liked it.

Grrrrrr.. Why I'm I so senstive to this drug??? I work full time and have a 9 year old child so I need to do something about this.. I'm going to call him and ask him about Tegretol Retard.

I was on tegretol and got a rash on my body so stopped taking it.... also you cant go out in the sunlight between 10am and 2 pm..... while taking tegretol

Is that how you got your rash? My son and I got to a pool in the summer, I told my pdoc this and he just said that I may get sun burn faster then usually but I should be fine.

Dee-nah, I thought you were mad and calling someone a retard and then I realized that's the name of the extended release Tegretol, FUNNY! I thought, gosh maybe she's getting manic or something, LOL!
