I started college this past year and during my entire year I got into a really bad habit of not eating anything all day, most days I would not eat more than 800 calories. Through out the year I only lost maybe 5 lbs or so, but this past month I have dropped about 15 lbs. First of all I dont know why all of a sudden I lost so much weight in a month, I did recently start birth control pills but I always thought that made you gain weight not lose. Did all of a sudden my body realize im not eating alot and start to lose weight, or do you think its the pills? Also, once I start eating more am I going to gain all that weight back?

Hi Sunflower ,

It might sound like a dream come true ,the weight loss , but so much in so little time sounds strange.Personally I would speak to my GP , I never heard of anyone losing weight on the pill .

Eating 800 cals a day is no way to lose weight as I am sure you know and you can't be getting the nouishment that your body needs , maybe you have a nutritionist on campus and a gym that can advice you on how to lose weight the healthy way ( that is if you still need to lose any ) .

Good luck,
Miri

What pill are you taking??
I know there are some BC pills on the market that help you lose weight. I was on one long time ago when I was on BC.
If you don't eat, eventually your body will lose weight after it's done feeding off of itself.

I'm on Ortho tri-Cyclin Lo, and am now on my second month. I do in fact know that eating so little amount of calories is bad for me, but my sleep schedule and school schedule made it difficult for me to find time to eat.

Try getting a breakfast bar to munch onto while you head to work or school. It will atleast put something in your stomach and help give you a little fuel for the day. They do make some breakfast bars that aren't to bad for you. Not eating enough will make you tired and having a breakfast will add to keeping you awake throughout the day.
