I used to post here all the time...then joined another board and slowly slipped away from here. Rediscovered this board accidently today...and thought maybe it would be a good time to come back.
I have been doing Atkins since 2003, and for the most part have done well. This year, unfortunately, as been really stressful and I am struggling to maintain and stya on track. I am feeling less healthy as a result and am seeing my weight begin to creep back up. I don't want to end up back where I was 5 years ago, so any thoughts/ encouragement, etc. would be great!

My advice would be to try a less restrictive diet where you can eat what you want, in moderation.

chipmunkis,
I recommend keeping your calories in line...I know, a lot of extra work.
If you wish to restrict carbs, do so in light of total calories.
Personally I think that years and years of any diet that exceeds 60% fat is a dangerous way to eat. Just too hard to avoid plugging up the circulatory system with fatty plaque.
If Atkins has stopped working for you, perhaps your body is telling you something.

Maybe I wasn't all that clear...What I am struggling with is sticking to my woe while dealing with all the stress instead of eating my way through foods that make me ill.
With all the vegetables, fruit and other healthy options available to me as part of the Maintainance phase, it's not "restrictive" at all...I was hoping for thoughts on how to stay on-plan while dealing with HUGE stress.
My problem is more with how I am copig with the stress, which would be an issue with ANY plan.

If you have the Atkins book read it, I think it talks about stress/factors and if you get off track it tells you what to do.
I don't do Atkins, but I've read the book, its just that my memory is bad these days.
but I'm really not sure.
just a suggestion.

Thank you! You are SO right...it does have a section that deals with this! I was too stressed to even think of the obvious!! :)

I am to having the same issues and glad you posted this! I will check back to my Atkins book and see what I can find. I have had alot going on lately and have not managed my OWL eating good at all. Although I haven't gained alot of weight back, I still have gained. Still sucks! I started induction this week and it has been tough. Have you considered doing induction again to jump start thing? It has helped me with my energy levels extremely! Which I needed with 3 kids. let me now how things are going for ya. I too follower other boards and just resulted back to this one today. Keep in touch.

It's hard when you know something works but you just get sidetracked!:nono: oh, well, back on track now, and hoping to get back to where I was soon!
