I am extremely irritated...........here is a little history. Im 35 and had a colonoscopy in 2006, due to rectal bleeding and major stomach pain. My GI Dr removed 7 pollups. My stomach pain comes and goes, but is becomming more frequent and more severe! I am also having major rectal bleeding.......again! I go my GI and she schedules a small bowel test, and gives me a free sample of a pill to take for my stomach........she doesnt even have a diagnosis yet?? I do the test and the barium moved quick through my system. That was 2 weeks ago, and havent heard the results. Today i call to get the results and the nurse tells me that the Dr called me a week ago and left a message with my son! WHAT????? He is 13 and "braindead"??? She has my work # and cell #. Anyways..............she tells me that the test came back fine and the barium moved quick through my small bowel. So i ask if i should schedula a follow-up appt and she told me that she would check with the Dr tomorrow and get back to me! I feel like i am being completely blown off.............do you think it is normal to have such severe stomach pain that you are literally doubled over, bloated and lasts anywhere from 30min to 8 hours! Nothing over the counter helps my stomach. The rectal bleeding doesnt happen every bowel movement but it is a stream of blood, several times a week and will happen even when i am urinating! I just dont know what to do??? I am fairly new to my area that i live.............so i pick Dr's out of a phone book...........and have heard that she is an excellent GI doc.............but i am starting to wonder???? Does anyone have any advise. Oh..............i also havent taken this pill she gave me...........i noticed it has sulfate in it, and i am allergic to sulfa. Are these the same??? I also didnt want to take a pill without a diagnosis!

hey i havent got an answer for you but ive been going through excacly the same but i have a fever constantly and i have diarrhea! mines been goin on for half a year now and my gi doctor is absolute crap he still hasnt seen me since i had my colonoscopy and im only 15 so i still dont no whats wrong with me i get the pain so severe i cant even move! so if you get an answer to your problems please let me no!

I hope this helps both of you. I have this issue right now but it is getting better! I have had severe cramps and diarrhea for weeks. I found a "functional medicine" doctor and I am doing a daily "frequency microcurrent" therapy. It has worked wonders, along with very small meals and NO sugar or carbs. They feed the bad bacteria. Your gut has to have the right amount of bacteria and yeast, if not, a virus can invade, or yeast will overgrow, or bacteria will overgrow - all these cause pain and cramping.

I will never again goto an MD, they are worthless and spend only 5 minutes with you and make you try the latest pharmecutical crap.

Don't eat sugar , bread, rice or potatoes. I take 3 flora pills daily (from Metagenics) along with 6 Vitaminc C pills and 2 milk thistle, and 3 Spectrazyme from Metagenics (enzymes). I also had blood work done and I am Vitamin D deficient (taking those too). Good Luck and god bless. oh yeah, the bad bugs HATE garlic and onions - so eat those daily.

Thanks for the reply! Im thinking a food allery...........but i cant pinpoint it?? I am also thinking IBS. I thought IBS was only when you have several bowel movements a day...............but come to find out it can also be when you cant go, like myself! I totally agree with naturopaths and would LOOOOOVE to see one!!! I am sooooooo fed up with not only my GI Dr, but really all that i have seen in my area! I cant tell you how many pills i have been perscribed in the past and now! My GI called yesterday and she wants to know how this pill is helping me................havent taken it..............im allergic to one of the ingredients and i refuse to take a pill without a diagnosis! She is thinking about doing a scope/cat scan. I have to call and talk to her today!
