Stool color is determined by the food you eat and the bilirubin your gallbladder puts out.
For example --if you eat and drink alot of milk/ dairy products that is white -- your stool will be lightly colored and eating beef will make it alot darker.

I know that I had severe gallbladder issues and my stool became light tan. I had to go on stomach acid pills to fix my gallbladder, also went on a "frequency microcurrent" machine. My stools are bit darker, but still light. I will probably forever be taking these acid pills, plus enzymes (spectrazyme from Metagenics). But I am happily functioning with no pain and regular stools.
