For pretty much my whole life I have had irritable bowels. Pretty much each time I eat a large meal like at dinner time, I have to run to the bathroom 10-20 minutes later because I have explosive diahrea. It's been like that ever since I was 11. I'm wondering what triggers this? Most of the time the heat is a contributing factor but because of this I don't fancy going over to my girlfriend's for dinner or going out anywhere and eating because I'm scared it will happen there(it already has). My lower abdomen will start to hurt terribly and growl and churn. I might have to go to the bathroom 2-4 times afterwards.
Can anyone tell me what they think it is? Irritable bowel syndrome?

Well I don't bleed. I'm 19 and have had it since I was a child, maybe around when I was 10 or 11. Sometimes it's not that bad, just a small stomach pain accompanied by diahrea, but then again sometimes it's INTENSE stomach pain and when I go to the bathroom, nothing comes out right away and the pain in my intestines is so intense it makes my mouth salivate as if I was ready to throw up, and sometimes I do a bit. When I'm done I feel 10 pounds lighter. I've tried taking immodium but it's no use to me cuz the pains and gas and diahrea happen before I take them.
True and slightly funny(not really) story. When I was in the 6th grade we went on a field trip 1 hour and a half away. For dinner we ate at mcdonalds and I had a chicken sandwich. The moment I stepped onto that bus I started having really bad pains and had to go to the bathroom except there was none. I had to sit there and suck it up for 1½ hours till I got to school where the school was closed. I had to wait for my dad to pick me up AND drop a friend at his place. I'm telling you, you've never seen a kid run so fast and rip his pants off. I just thought I might share the comedic side of it with you.:jester:

malabsorption is your problem, having diarrhea right after you eat is caused
by the food not absorbing sugar, fats and proteins well. you need to get some test done, lactose intolerance or celiac disease. you need to go see
a gi or doctor because you absortion of food to feed your body will be reduced
