Well there ya have it. I was wondering what anyone has done and if it worked for a boy or girl?

We have ds12, ds4, ddalmost 3 and dd almost 1

We would like one more boy and would like to have fun trying. So any tips would be appreciated.

We had fertility drugs for 2nd and 3rd so we never thought of the sex we just wanted a baby. 1st one was before my thyroid issues and 4the was the grace of God when we were told that I couldnt without help again.

Any tips that we can practice ;) would be fun and appreciated. Funs ones and old wives tales are welcome too.

nikki thank you . I think i will have to start charting as well and see what I need to do to do it during the ovulation period.

I posted on yours about your ovulation.

I have also heard the old wives tale that boys are conceived when the egg comes out of the right ovary and girls on the left (or vice-versa)...:dizzy:

I think Nikky couldn t have answered you any better.

If i may ask?what were your thyroid issues. I was recently diagnosed with hypo and have been sice taking 50mcg levo . My endo says it shouldn t be a prob but sometimes i wonder if this is the reason of my IF.

amyI believe that hypo/hyper causes infertility and can continue even when regulated on medicine for quite some time. It takes your body a while to adjust back to normal after you have been leveled correctly on your medicine. I am Hyperthyroid, I have Grave's Disease. A Disease that produces too much as apposed to hypo which doesnt produce enough. My thyroid was off so therefore my body and peroids were off as well. Some symptoms can be suttle and some very obvious.

Jan 2007 i was told that I was out of remission wiht my disease. I was told to wait till march and see. By the time march came i was loosing my hair and my tremor was back and there was palpitaions again. I told Endo and he said my level wasnt low enough to show that. BS i told him and went on the meds myself and I went to a different endo and told her what I did and within 4 weeks my level was just in range so we were happy. The problem is, is that it made my periods weird and now my ovulatoin is off. THerefore trying to conceive is out of the question because I have no clue when i ovulate now. I use to get the pain but now it so off.

Your thyroid effects many things and your fertility is one of them and can effect you for a while. YOu need to drink water and stay hydrated(this keeps cervial mucus nice and loose) and stay away from coffee and soda. You need to take your medicine as prescribed and check your levels often to make sure you are fine. You might want to seek the help of a Reproducitve Endocronologist for help if its in your ins plan. You might want to join us over in the thyroid threads and ask questions there as well. It might help and support there is great. Since you are trying to conceive I would also stay in the TTC group as well.

Remember when it comes to thyroid patience is key and eating and drinking healthy will help you to relax and get your body back to where it should be. It just takes time and I know babies are great but trust me you want to do this right . I know your dr. will say your thyroid wont be a problem but they always say that, go with your gut.
